Videocon d2h: COO Himanshu Patil resigns.


Videocon d2h’s chief operating officer (COO) Himanshu Patil, a senior pay TV professional with nearly 30 years of overall experience, has resigned and will be starting his own technology venture.

Videocon d2h’s top management team is moving out and will not be part of the merged entity. As reported earlier, deputy chief executive officer (CEO) Rohit Jain will depart from the company by the end of this month.

Later this year, Videocon d2h will merge with Dish TV to create the largest DTH company in India and the second-largest in the world by subscribers. The merged entity, to be named Dish TV Videocon.

Patil directed the company through new market penetration and product development initiatives that attracted over 10 million subscribers in a highly competitive DTH industry. Patil collaborated with satellite operators, key vendors and… providers to ensure quality product, and maintain keen focus on market trends to maximise business opportunities.

Patil will now try to grow his own venture named Cloudpoint Technologies Ltd. He is setting up a start-up focused on customer lifecycle management, along with his colleague Vinod Hakhu, who heads subscriber management at Videocon d2h.

Dish TV had in May announced the appointment of Dua as group CEO Anil Dua, former Hero MotoCorp SVP sales, marketing and customer care, will head Dish TV Videocon..
